Charlotte + Jack | Soughton Hall Wedding Venue
The day started by documenting the bride and her bridal party getting ready at Soughton Hall. With hair by Dawn, makeup by Victoria Ellen Makeup, and dress from Bellissima Brides, Charlotte looked stunning and elegant, ready to mingle with her wedding guests and her husband-to-be, Jack, who also looked suave in the black tie dress code.
Guests enjoyed drinks on the sprawling lawn at Soughton Hall, followed by a relaxed outdoor ceremony — this venue is a picture-perfect setting for some truly gorgeous wedding photos.

How did you meet?
Jack and I met through our work. I was an Events Manager in Mayfair, and Jack was the new General Manager. After working with Jack for a year, I knew he was a good egg, and we instantly bonded as friends through our hatred of condiments.
After working in the same place for a year, I moved to a different restaurant for an events job — it was still part of the same company, so we were still in touch. One day, we decided to go for pizza, and something switched and I knew that he was the man for me. Six years later, here we are — loving pizza and hating condiments together.
Do you have a proposal story to share?
We had a lockdown engagement — it was during the time when you could only go for a
walk (sounds crazy now, doesn’t it?). We went to Epping Forest for a walk, and Jack packed lunch for us — at the time, I did think about how organised this seemed for a local walk, but of course, I was keen if it meant there was a pork pie in the bag.
It was November, and all the leaves had just fallen — it was the most beautiful setting. We stopped for our picnic, and just when I thought Jack was about to pull the chocolate out, he pulled out the most stunning ring and started his speech. Next thing I was engaged and screaming the forest down with excitement.
What were you most excited about for your wedding day?
We have the best friends and family, so we couldn’t wait to be surrounded by everyone we love the most celebrating and having so much fun as husband and wife.
Why did you choose your wedding venue?
As soon as I saw the drive and walked into Soughton Hall, I knew it was the venue for me. It had everything we wanted, but the thing I remember the most is that the staff cared, not just about us — but about the venue and all the details. They had thought about everything, so we didn’t need to. That made me trust that they would deliver the most incredible wedding for us, which they did.
What’s the most vivid memory of your wedding day?
Okay, I’ve got two. The first one was walking down the aisle — I was so excited to walk down with my dad and my bridesmaid, and seeing everyone I loved, and Jack at the end was just the most magical moment.
And then the wedding breakfast, the live band vibe that All The Feels Collective created was everything and more that we wanted — it was exactly how I wanted it to be — full of fun and love.
What was your first dance song, and why did you choose it?
Conversations in the Dark by John Legend. The words are so lovely — we always have it on, and it was the song our gorgeous boy Louis was born to, so it means a lot to us.
If you could give couples one piece of advice when planning a wedding, what would it be?
Make a list of the things that are important to you both and make them the priority in your budget, and don’t forget that wedding insurance needs to be bought the day you pay your deposit for the venue.
What was it like working with me?
Working with Jane was amazing. Everything was so smooth and easy from the start. She knew the right shots and got everyone where they needed to be, which is very hard as everyone wants to drink and chat.
The pictures were better than I ever imagined they would be — I was extremely happy with every picture from the wedding album — and I don’t normally love photos of myself.
