FAQs

  • I‘ve been photographing weddings for 43 years and counting.

  • Yes. I will endeavour to capture all moments of your wedding day — big and small.

When you’ve spent so much time and energy creating the perfect wedding celebration, it’s important you have photos you can look back on to remember all the little details. I will take formal family group photos as they stand the test of time, and then you will have them to treasure for years to come.

I would advise keeping your photo list to a minimum so that you can quickly get back to the celebrations! But don’t worry — we can discuss all your specific requirements when we meet before the wedding.

  • Yes, I always deliver a good mix of both. Approximately 40% of the wedding photos will be in black and white and 60% in colour.

  • On average, it takes me six weeks to edit your wedding photos. When you receive them, alongside access to a password-protected digital gallery, I also supply you with a beautiful wooden box (package dependent) with matching USBs containing fine art prints with white borders and print folios.

  • I offer both half and full-day coverage, but if you’re looking for additional coverage, I am happy to create a bespoke package for you.

  • Yes, I have Public Liability and Professional Indemnity Insurance, and I can provide certificates for both. I am also DBS checked.

  • Me! I am my unique selling point. My many years in the wedding industry have helped me develop a high-quality wedding photography service. My techniques for getting the best candid photography have been perfected over the years, making me a great addition to your wedding.

I would encourage you to research other wedding photographers to get a balanced view and ensure you pick the one that best suits your wedding.

  • I use three mirrorless Leica bodies with prime lenses — so don’t worry. Everything is going to be ok.

  • A bit of rain has never ruined a wedding for my couples yet. I am confident working in any weather conditions — I’ve taken some truly beautiful photos when it’s been blowing a gale.

It’s my job to work with all weather conditions, and some venues have outdoor covered areas.

  • Let me reassure you first — I have never not been able to attend a wedding. But if I cannot attend, then I will endeavour to find a replacement photographer with a similar style to me that I trust. I have a great network of photographers to call on.

  • I don’t expect to be fed at your wedding — I’m always happy to bring my favourite Marmite and lettuce sandwiches. But any food offered to me is always extremely welcome, I have no allergies and I love everything.

  • I travel all over the UK (and I occasionally take on the odd destination wedding). I can advise you on travel costs if your wedding isn’t local.

  • Yes, all my albums are printed on the highest fine art paper with leather, velvet, or linen covers. The design process is dictated by you. Then I’ll put the album together and send it to you to be checked over so any changes can be made. Drop me an email to discuss the design process in detail.

  • Yes, I can supply a second shooter with a similar photography style to me. A second shooter can be a great idea to document your other half getting ready pre-wedding and can also be a good idea for larger weddings to ensure we cover all angles. An extra shooter is charged at £250.

  • I have been asked this question so many times, so you’re not alone! But don’t worry, I know what I’m doing, which means you don’t have to worry about how to pose and whether you look awkward. The majority of the day will be candid, relaxed photography, so you can just focus on enjoying your day while I snap away.

Some small parts of your day might require elements of posing, such as family group shots, but I am on hand to give direction. I often take couples for short walks away from the wedding crowd to help you feel less self-conscious, producing natural wedding photography.

Engagement sessions are a really helpful way to get you used to being in front of professional cameras and will leave you feeling more confident and know what to expect on the wedding day. Forming a good connection with my clients is important, so booking an engagement shoot can help me be more aware of any worries you may have.

  • No, I own the legal copyright to the images. But you will receive watermark-free, full-resolution files, with permission to print and share as much as you want with friends, family, and on social media, too. The online gallery will be available for five years.
